Super Mario Menko Card by Amada — Nintendo Famicom, 1985
This is an original 1985 menko card featuring Super Mario, produced by Amada for the Japanese Famicom market. Numbered #42, it is a piece of early Nintendo merchandise from the same year the Famicom was taking Japan by storm. Menko are traditional Japanese playing cards with a long history as children's collectibles, and by the mid-1980s they had become a popular format for licensing characters from games and anime.
