Pokemon Mezastar is a Bandai Namco Amusement arcade game that launched in Japanese game centers in September 2020, succeeding the earlier Pokemon Ga-Ole series. Its defining feature is the tag: an oval plastic piece with an embedded IC chip that the arcade cabinet reads during play. Tags are simultaneously functional game parts and physical collectibles — after each play session the machine dispenses one, and players keep it.
