One Piece and the Egghead Arc

Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece has run in Weekly Shonen Jump since 1997, with the Toei Animation anime adaptation following from 1999. With over 500 million copies of the manga in circulation worldwide — a Guinness World Record as of 2022 — the series has built a collector community that tracks licensed merchandise as closely as new chapters. The “Future Island Egghead” Ichiban Kuji line is part of that ecosystem, developed by Bandai Spirits to coincide with the Egghead arc: a story strand set on a technologically advanced island connected to the enigmatic scientist known as Vegapunk. In the manga, this arc develops from late 2022 onward, from around volume 103; the anime adaptation began in 2023. Because the arc is still active in both formats, merchandise tied to it reflects characters and moments that are still playing out in the ongoing story.

York, Vegapunk Satellite 06

York is one of six entities known as Satellites — each a distinct being embodying a particular emotion, and each forming part of the collective called Vegapunk. Numbered 06, York’s defining trait is greed, a concept that appears as text printed directly on the acrylic panel alongside her name. The reverse of the stand is labeled “YORK 06,” anchoring her within the Satellite numbering system.

Visually, York stands apart from the other Satellites: blonde hair, a pair of goggles, an orange jacket, a blue bikini, and long boots. A second, smaller character also appears in the artwork; based on available information, its precise identity cannot be confirmed. York is a relatively recent figure in One Piece’s cast, introduced during an arc that is still developing, making this stand an early piece of merchandise built around her.

Ichiban Kuji and the Acrylic Stand Format

Ichiban Kuji is a lottery-style goods system operated by Bandai Spirits, the figure and premium merchandise subsidiary of the Bandai Namco group. It occupies a different category from gachapon capsule machines and shokugan food-toy products: there is no food component, and prizes are not randomly dispensed from a machine. Instead, customers draw a ticket at retail — primarily at convenience store chains like Lawson, as well as at bookstores and hobby shops across Japan — and receive the item corresponding to their drawn prize tier. The tiers run from A down to a final prize; H is one of the lower-ranked draws. Acrylic stands appear frequently at mid-to-lower tiers in Ichiban Kuji lotteries.

As a format, acrylic stands — character imagery printed on cut acrylic resin and inserted into a small display base — expanded rapidly across Japanese character goods from the late 2010s onward. They are thin and lightweight, which makes them practical both for shelf display and for international shipping, where the transit risks associated with resin figures are higher. This item carries the copyright mark ©O/S·T·T, representing Oda, Shueisha, and Toei, confirming it as an officially licensed product. It was produced and sold through Japan’s domestic retail network as a JP market release.
